Christmas in the Cotswolds

The lead-up to Christmas is just as enjoyable as the day itself, and what better way to get in the festive spirit than a trip to a Christmas market. Chipping Campden’s Christmas market takes place for one day only on Saturday 6th December, 12-5pm. Even more picturesque when transformed into a winter wonderland, the high street is closed to traffic with stalls selling crafts, toys, gifts and food in the Market Square and Town Hall. Don’t miss the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at dusk plus a special appearance from Father Christmas.

We have availability for this eventful weekend at our Cotswolds-based holiday home, Elkstones - just a short walk from Chipping Campden. Elkstones is an elegant, thatched house sleeping up to 10 guests. Renowned for its high-end yet comforting interiors, featuring bespoke furniture, stone and marble bathrooms, luxurious furnishings, curated art collection and even a baby grand piano. With the feel of a luxury boutique hotel, you can enjoy the breadth of facilities including study, cinema room, cedar sauna, indoor swim jet pool and Peloton.

The living room is a one of the most-loved spaces at Elkstones, with its large wood-burning stove and baby grand piano - as part of our concierge service we can arrange for a local pianist to play for you. Elkstones’ outdoor areas are just as impressive as the property itself - you’ll look out onto its large landscaped gardens and beautiful Cotswolds countryside.

The Cotswolds is a must-visit for foodies with a focus on locally-sourced produce served in a fine-dining setting or cosy pub. Our favourites include The Fig at Cotswolds House Hotel and Lady Bamford’s The Wild Rabbit at Daylesford. You’ll also find a fantastic selection of boutiques, antique shops and art galleries in the area, ideal for selecting unique gifts for your loved ones.

For keen golfers there are some excellent courses nearby, you can access Broadway Golf Club just a short drive away - also close by are Naunton Downs and Evesham Golf Club. Some of the UK’s finest houses and gardens are situated nearby including Hidcote Manor, Blenheim Palace, Cotswolds Wildlife Park and Warwick Castle. For a wellness fix, you’ll love Cotswolds House Hotel and Spa and Bamford Haybarn Spa.
