Inside

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Elkstones has five, individually designed bedrooms (four en-suite) featuring Hypnos beds. In the master suite you'll find a four-poster super-king-size bed in oak and an impressive freestanding mineral cast bath in a perfect oval for two, set on a raised platform with magnificent countryside views. There's also an en-suite with double drench shower and a generous dressing room with a full wall of faux baby ostrich-panelled wardrobes. Four en-suite bathrooms and a main, family bathroom feature a mix of black marble, stone and mosaic tiling, and superior fittings from Grohe and Duravit.

Living Room

The living room is stylish and elegant, with a large woodburning stove, flagstone flooring, decadent rugs and two sumptuous sofas. There’s also a baby grand piano - we’d be happy to arrange for a local pianist to come and play for you.

Kitchen & Dining

The stylish Loxleys oak kitchen is the heart of the house and perfect for luxury self-catering. With beams and limestone flooring, it features granite worktops, a seven-ring gas range with griddle, two large ovens (one with the facility for pizza/bread baking), a combination oven, microwave, dishwasher and American-style fridge freezer. The large solid-timber table seats up to 10 and is ideal for breakfast, lunch or informal suppers.

For more formal dining, the elegant dining room features a beautiful oval dining table which seats 10. A Tondo mirror in oxidised silver, a nickel chandelier and a luxurious carpet, lamps and chairs complete the indulgent look.

Other Spaces

The lower ground floor is dedicated to recreation with an indoor swim jet heated pool and an ample relaxation area, with a sculptured ceramic feature wall. The large cedar sauna has beech seating with rainbow LED lighting and there’s an adjacent cloakroom with marble mosaic tiling and drench shower. On this floor you’ll also find the cinema room, with a 2-metre projector screen, surround sound and home cinema equipment.

Elkstones also offers a compact study/reading room on the ground floor, decorated in rust and taupe with a Shagreen campaign desk and bookcase.

Outside

The Gardens

Large landscaped gardens open out onto a rolling meadow, providing the most tranquil of settings to sit out and relax. There’s also a ha-ha in the lower garden. The upper terrace provides a great sunny spot, while the terrace adjacent to the kitchen is perfect for al fresco dining, with built-in seating, table and a BBQ.

Health & Fitness

For keen golfers there are some excellent courses nearby. Just a short drive will bring you to Broadway Golf Club with its wonderful views across the Vale of Evesham, while Naunton Downs and Evesham Golf Club are a little further (15 miles). The area is fantastic for walking with numerous routes available, from local rambles to walking the Cotswold Way.

If you’re looking to pamper yourself, book a spa day at the Cotswold House Hotel and Spa, a 10-minute walk away, or head to the Bamford Haybarn Spa, a luxury wellness retreat at Daylesford, which offers yoga, Pilates, meditation and treatments.

Food & Restaurants

Stroll into Chipping Campden and enjoy a quintessentially English afternoon tea at Badgers Hall (by reservation), or pick up some fresh bread at Maylams deli. The award-winning organic shop at nearby Daylesford offers wonderful local produce, and is also a great place to grab some lunch.

There are excellent options for dining out. We love the cosy Eight Bells in Chipping Campden, the Horse and Groom in Bourton-on-the-Hill for great gastropub food and Lady Bamford’s The Wild Rabbit at Daylesford, a great place for Sunday lunch in a super-stylish setting. We also recommend booking a table at The Wheatsheaf Inn, Northleach which is arguably one of the best pubs for food in the Cotswolds.
